FAAUNA presents their second album: Manshines, released by ZZK Records, and starts on a new tour in South America. The band is a pioneer of the cumbia (traditional argentine dance) genre since 2003 and is based in Mendoza (Argentina). The original duo was formed by Cristian del Negro (a.k.a Color Kit , vocals and scratch) and by the late Federico Rodriguez (a.k.a Catar_Sys, who passed away in November 2010). Together they released their first album called La Manita de Fauna (ZZK Records, 2008), a pure “street cumbia” album, with funny – yet conscious – lyrics.
Transmuting and growing, the message continues its way through their next album, called Manshines, which was ready to be edited when Catar_Sys died shortly after a tour throughout Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil – this time performed with DJ Villa Diamante.
Mixed and produced by Andrés Oddone and Frikstailers, this new release magnifies the horizon to bring more beats and rhythms unto the cumbia, such as dubstep and kuduro. The album features Daleduro and El Remolón as guests that put music up so that everyone can dance.
