3001 PROYECTO PIAZZOLLA – ELENA ROGER & ESCALANDRUM [TANGO/JAZZ - ARGENTINA]

The gathering of these renowned Argentinean artists on 3001, their first recording together, reflects the spirit of the music of Buenos Aires yesterday, today and tomorrow.
“Balada para un loco” (Ballad for a Madman), “Los pájaros perdidos” (The Lost Birds), “Chiquilín de Bachín” (The Little Beggar Boy), “La bicicleta blanca” (The White Bicycle), “Vuelvo al sur” (Return to the South), “María de Buenos Aires” are some of the songs performed on this recording, with arrangements by Nicolás Guerschberg.

3001 was recorded at the legendary ION studios in July 2016, and will be available in October. The concerts, where the artists will display the magic of this unique
union, will have the famous Renata Schussheim in charge of the art direction and staging, together with a first-level team. The album promotional concerts will start in November in Argentina, and include an international tour during 2016-2017.

The idea of getting together started in 2012, in New York, when Elena Roger, then playing Eva Peron in the musical Evita in Broadway, attended a Escalandrum concert at
the legendary jazz club Birdland. After the show, and having a warm conversation, they shared the same desire to collaborate on a joint musical project. In 2014 they started to carry it out.
